You could say Primož Roglič was born to fly. Not metaphorically, but quite literally. Before he became one of the most successful Grand Tour riders of his generation, Roglič soared through alpine air as a ski jumper, born in Trbovlje, Slovenia (then Yugoslavia), on 29 October 1989. He made his name early, winning team gold at the Junior World Championships in 2007 and podiuming in multiple Continental Cup events—the sport's second-highest level. Then came a crash in Planica, and with it, the end of a dream.1
