Thorvald Ellegaard, nicknamed "The Star of the North," was a legendary Danish track cyclist. Born on March 7, 1877, he raced professionally from 1897 to 1926.
Ellegaard was a dominant sprinter, winning six UCI Track Cycling World Championships. He achieved nearly a thousand victories throughout his career, including 24 consecutive Danish national titles. He was known for his exceptional speed and tactical prowess. With German cyclist Walter Rütt, he formed a formidable tandem pairing.

Michel Nedelec is a former French professional cyclist. Born on March 7, 1940, he raced professionally from 1962 to 1966.
Nedelec's most notable victory was in the 1964 Bordeaux-Paris race. He also served as the president of the French professional cyclists' union for a period starting in 1965.
